Measuring performance of supply chain by relational network DEA: A game theory approach

چکیده
An appropriate performance measurement system is an important requirement for the effective management of a supply chain. Because of the existence of the intermediate measures connecting the supply chain members, conventional data envelopment analysis (DEA) cannot be utilized directly to measure the performance of supply chain and its members. This paper evaluated the performance of supply chain under cooperative and non-cooperative games by utilizing relational network DEA. Relational network DEA model considers the interrelationship of the members within the supply chain, to measure the efficiency of the supply chain and those of the members at the same time. The noncooperative game is based on the Stackelberg strategy solution concept. In noncooperative game, it is considered that some parts in supply chain have more power in marketing competition (leaders) and the other parts of the supply chain repetition of supply chain are the followers. In the leader-follower structure (Stackelberg model), the leaders efficiency, first evaluated by using the relational network DEA in parallel situation, and then the followers efficiency is evaluated, using information related to the leader’s efficiency. In cooperative game it is assumed that all parts of supply chain cooperate to each other in order to achieve higher efficiency.

An Integrated Approach for Measuring Performance of Network structure: Case study on power plants
Data envelopment analysis (DEA) and balanced scorecard (BSC) are two well-known approaches for measuring performance of decision making units (DMUs). BSC is especially applied with quality measures, whereas, when the quantity measures are used to evaluate, DEA is more appropriate. In the real-world, DMUs usually have complex structures such as network structures. One of the well-known network s...

Supply chain includes two or more parties linked by flow of goods, information, and funds. In a decentralized system, supply chain members make decision regardless of their decision's effects on the performance of the other members and the entire supply chain. This is the key issue in supply chain management, that the mechanism should be developed in which different objectives should be align...

In today's competitive markets, firms try to reduce their supply cost by selecting efficient suppliers using different techniques. Several methods can be applied to evaluate the efficiency of supplier base. This paper develops generalized network data envelopment analysis models to examine the efficiency of two-tier supplier bases under cooperative and non-cooperative strategies where each tier...

One of the most complicated decision making problems for managers is the evaluation of bank performance, which involves various criteria. There are many studies about bank efficiency evaluation by network DEA in the literature review. These studies do not focus on multi-level network. Wu (Eur J Oper Res 207:856–864, 2010) proposed a bi-level structure for cost efficiency at the first time. In t...

Several real problems in telecommunication, transportation, and distribution industries can be well analyzed by network flow models. In revenue management, pricing plays a primary role which increases the profit generated from a limited supply of assets. Pricing decision directly affects the amount of service or product demand. Hence, in traditional maximum flow problem, we assume that the dema...
